Dress rehearsal and show this Saturday!
This terms classes have now finished and there are no classes this week except for the dress rehearsal on Saturday.
The dress rehearsal from 10.30am to 12.30pm this Saturday 2 December is compulsory for all students dancing in the show at 6pm.
For this rehearsal students must come in their costume and also the required shoes. If students are in more than one dance they need to bring all their costumes and change for each of their dance pieces.
Please ensure all clothing and footwear is named.
Note also that only parents of 5 year olds may stay at the rehearsal.
ARRIVAL TIMES FOR STUDENTS BEFORE THE SHOW (to get their hair and makeup done):
Students will be required back at John Paul College gym at the following times: Click Here
HAIR AND MAKEUP AT THE SHOWS:
Please arrive with clean, brushed, product free hair, ideally washed a couple of days prior. Please ensure hair is free of lice, we cannot do hair that has lice due to the risk of passing on to others.
Please also send girls along with 2x strong black hair bands on their wrist so the hairdressers can use them to put their hair up. We supply hair clips and hairspray but not hair bands.
We have some parent helpers doing makeup backstage. As they have quite a few students to get through it would be helpful if you can manage the basics before you drop your child to each of the shows.
Base (foundation) and mascara would be great as we don't do either of those. Also if you are able to manage a tidy line of black eyeliner on the upper eyelid that would be great. Optional for boys to wear makeup.
We will do blush, eyeshadow and lipstick for each of the groups.
Please make sure your child doesn’t come with any jewellery; this includes earrings & watches as they will need to be taken off for their dances so the group look uniform. Obviously, if jewellery has to be removed at the shows, there is a possibility of it getting lost.
COSTUMES THAT HAVEN'T BEEN PICKED UP:
The last of the costumes for students that haven't yet collected them will be given out at the rehearsal on Saturday (to those who have paid their fees owing (as per our terms and conditions).
There will be EFTPOS available if you wish to pay fees or buy tickets and merchandise, for the show. Cash also accepted.
CHILDREN WITH MORE THAN ONE COSTUME CHANGE:
It’s really important that your child is familiar with the order of their dances and therefore the order of their costume changes. Help them out by writing and going over the order for them from the run sheet. Note how many other dances are between their costume changes so they have an idea of how quickly they need to get changed. Please make sure you check this from the last run sheet we sent out (closer to the top of this newsletter), as earlier run sheets are drafts. Please have costumes in different named clear bags or on coat hangers.
No photography of the shows permitted. We will have a professional photographer at the show that will sell photos from just $3.
PICK UP PROCESS AFTER THE SHOW:
All dancers will be cared for backstage until the show ends. After that we will bring them down to the stage area with their belongings and you can collect them from there.
The Rotorua show is this coming Saturday, 2nd December, 6 pm at John Paul College.
$15 adults (16 years or over), $10 child (under 16).
