Dance trip to USA in Sep next year
Greetings!
We have 15 Rise dancers travelling to L.A, America in the September school holidays next year on a 2 week dance tour.
THERE ARE 5 PLACES LEFT, open to anyone that is interested in coming.
Dancers need to be over 12 years of age at the time of travel. Parents and siblings are able to come along also (we have 6 'chapperones' (parents) already booked to go on the tour also.
The inclusions are fantastic and we have heard great things from some other dancers and dance schools that have been.
We had a meeting with the tour company a few weeks ago to find out more info and noted the following:
* Going in September 2017 school holidays (12 nights in L.A).
* Costs $3497NZ dancer & $3397 chaperones (any parents that would go along) plus return flights (approx $2,000) (email us if you want to look at the inclusions list - it's a long one but includes accommodation, all tours, dancing at LA dance studios, Disneyland etc etc)
* We must provide 1 chaperone per 4 dancers
* Dancers must be 12 or over at the time of travel (Sep 2017) (unless they have a parent travelling with them)
* Chaperones are adults that would go, they would get everything the kids do (tours, Disneyland etc) except the dance stuff (chaperones have a lot of free time)
* They have tour guides that stay in the same places as us and look after our every need. It all sounds very security conscious.
* Breakfast and final night celebration dinner included but everyone needs to buy own lunches and dinners. Food is cheap there and the tour rep suggested approx $300 per person for lunches and dinners for the 12 days. Food outlets in very close walking proximity to all hotels that we will be staying in.
* We would have to put together a 30 minute show to perform at Disneyland & Hollywood Boulevard so there would have to be some paid rehearsals to get that together. Please note we would have to check that all students were at a certain level of dance ability to be able to perform in the show. If they aren't they would still be involved in every other part of the tour. We will have to organise a costume for these performances which would be approx $80 plus shoes.

This is not a solid commitment but they will email you to fill in a contract and pay a $500 deposit soon after. It would then be instalments every 4-5 months.
People are welcome to fundraise and for those that want to you could look at putting a committee together.

FRIDAY 23 SEPTEMBER - our term 3 dance classes finish
26 SEP-7 OCT - School Holidays (no dance classes but holiday programme operating in Tauranga)
MONDAY 10 OCTOBER - our term 4 dance classes start ( 5 weeks at usual venue) plus:
SUNDAY 30 OCTOBER- Tauranga Show rehearsals Merivale Action Centre
SUNDAY 13 NOVEMBER - Tauranga Show rehearsals Merivale Action Centre
FRIDAY 18 NOVEMBER - Tauranga show rehearsals at Baycourt Theatre
SATURDAY 19 NOVEMBER - Tauranga shows at Baycourt Theatre
