End of term 2 & start of term 3 dates:
Our term 3 finishes next week apart from Monday classes which finish 4 July, Mount Primary yrs 4-6 which finishes 5 July, Mount Primary yrs 2-3 THURSDAY class which finishes 7 July, Pillans Point School classes which finish 7 July (Pillans parents - please note no classes 30 June) and Bethlehem College class which finishes 8 July.
Tauranga Intermediate AIMS practices continue on till the end of the term then start up again 25 July (so only school holidays off).
Term 3 starts with the Boys' Only Sunday class being first up on 31 July then other classes start Monday 1st August, Tuesday 2nd and so on.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR CREWS that competed at BATTLEGROUNDS hip hop comp over the weekend...
G Funk placing first in the young guns division. B Zerk placing first in the Junior division and Kinetix fourth. All three crews will be representing NZ in Australia in September.
2016 shows:
We have started a Tauranga Shows FAQs page under the "NEWS" tab on our website. Please check this before emailing us and also check back frequently as we add/change things as we progress with our planning.
Please note the following from the FAQs:
Q: Tell me about costuming
A: In term 3 we collect the costume fees for the shows as we are already purchasing costumes and will be fitting sizes etc during term 3. For those taking Hip Hop classes (this includes the classes held in primary & intermediate schools) please add $45 per costume to your term 3 fees. For those in Acro, Contemporary and Jazz costumes are $55. As well as the cost of the costume these charges include a sourcing fee and a contribution towards make-up, hairspray, clips etc. The costume is yours to keep after the shows. This does not include any accessories we add. Some classes may have an additional cost for shoes eg Jazz students will require jazz shoes.
TERM 3 FEES:
If you are staying in the same class you do not need to re-enrol in term 3.
In fact as many classes are full, you will not be able to enrol on-line as we had to close off enrolments so that new people do not enrol and push existing students off the roll.
So existing students - to secure your spot for term 3, please make payment of term 3 fees + costume fee (as detailed above) well before the start of the term to:

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HAVE UNPAID FEES FROM TERM 2 YOU/YOUR CHILD WILL BE TURNED AWAY FROM CLASS IN TERM 3.
Holiday Programme:
Our dance-based school holiday programme is once again operating out of Otumoetai Primary School hall in Tauranga. Lots of different activities including crafts, variety of dance styles, singing, outdoor activities and games. Come and have some fun with our dance teachers!
$40 per day from 8am-5.30pm. WINZ subsidies apply for those eligible. Get more information and enrol here:
*NEW* Adults Acro class starting Term Three
We are starting up an Adults Acro class! The class will be held on Friday evenings at Bay Twisters, Tauranga, 3rd Ave from 5.35 - 6.35pm. Acro dance is all about strengthening and lengthening so will be a great pre-weekend activity. No experience needed but if you have past gymnastics experience we will cater to all ability levels. As with all new classes it can only go ahead if we have sufficeint enrolments. If it has to be cancelled, a full refund will apply.
SPONSORS FOR THE END OF YEAR SHOW
The end of year shows are a necessary but costly part of the dance year. To help with associated costs we are seeking sponsorship. If you/your business may be interested in sponsoring our end of year show please email us.
There are a variety of different ways in which we can promote your business in exchange for sponsorship including our website/social media/printed advertising/promotions/display at the show etc.
BACKSTAGE HELPERS AT THE SHOWS
It take a community to raise a child and an army to run a dance production! We couldn't put on a great show without a large number of volunteers. Please let us know if you can help backstage and for which show (10am schools show/2.30pm public show/6.30pm public show) (the more the better).
We would love to hear from those that helped last year (remind us of the job you did so we can give you the same as last year to keep things easy). Please email us if you are able to help. We will take your name and contact you closer to the time with an specifically allocated job - eg. looking after certain groups backstage, hair/make up etc (let us know if you have any experience in certain backstage jobs).
NO BLACK SOLED SHOES IN THE STUDIO
Unless they are jazz or ballet shoes.
NO answering or texting during class
No explanation needed!
No food in class please...
