TOMORROW FRIDAY NIGHT DRESS REHEARSAL BAYCOURT
All dancers in both the 'schools & crews' and 'public' shows are required at the compulsory practice at Baycourt this Friday 24 November.
The rehearsal is for students to get familiar with the layout of Baycourt and to practise spacing, formations and entry and exit on and off stage.
Full show costume to be worn please, including the required shoes and other bits and pieces that may have been mentioned in your costume note.
If you have more than one costume because you are in multiple dance pieces please just wear anything comfortable for the night and bring all of our costumes to rehearsal and we will help you get them ready and organised for the shows the following day.
Please drop your students to the X Space (opposite the foyer in Baycourt), you will see our desk set up there
Please note only parents of Little Hoppers ( year olds) are permitted at the stage rehearsal in the upstairs waiting area only (our Greenroom) (no spectators are allowed in the auditorium), can everyone else please pick up at the required time (click on the link below):

SHOW DAY ARRIVAL TIMES
Please click on the link below to find out what time your child needs to be at Baycourt on the day of the show. These are staggered arrival times based on when your child is performing in the show.
We need to get through everyone's hair and makeup before the show starts so this is why some groups are required to be there nice and early.
Please note if your child is in our afternoon and evening shows, they are required to be there all afternoon i.e there is no time to go home between shows, although you may have time to meet them outside on the lawn at Baycourt for a catch-up and bite to eat (weather permitting!). Ideally, just send them with plenty of snacks & a water bottle to last the day and night (water is supplied in the Green Room).
In between shows we play a movie on a large projector for the kids to watch.
Parents - please ask your children not to share their food on show day as there may be some children with serious food allergies (anaphylaxis) a strict NO nut policy is in place!.
PICK UP OF DANCERS AFTER THE SHOWS:
SCHOOLS SHOW 10AM:
Pick up from our front desk (after they have performed of course).
Ten minutes before the end of the show you WILL NOT be able to pick them up at our front desk. This is because they will have been taken side of stage to be released to parents in the audience as soon as the show finishes.
So, if you are watching the show, remain seated and wait for your child.
If you are not watching the show, wait outside the auditorium until everyone who’s been watching the show exits and then you can enter and collect your child.
We will only let children go if there is someone there to pick them up.
2 PM SHOW:
This show ends around 4.15pm. Everyone needs to be back by 5 pm so most dancers will not leave. Most dancers pack a good lunch and dinner & relax between shows and watch a movie we put up on the big projector.
If you wish to pick your child up for a quick bite you can collect them from our front desk.
6.30 PM SHOW:
Pick up from our front desk (after they have performed of course).
Ten minutes before the end of the show you WILL NOT be able to pick them up at our front desk. This is because they will have been taken side of stage to be released to parents in the audience as soon as the show finishes.
So, if you are watching the show, remain seated and wait for your child.
If you are not watching the show, wait outside the auditorium until everyone who’s been watching the show exits and then you can enter and collect your child.
We will only let children go if there is someone there to pick them up.
SHOW TICKETS:
Tickets are purchased from Baycourt or www.ticketek.co.nz
Tickets have sold out to the 2pm and 6.30pm shows.
We still have tickets left to the 10am show (which is the only show that has our amazing hip-hop crews in it!) (as well as the school groups, advanced acro dance and extension contemporary groups). Often dancers in the 'Public shows' like to come and watch this one hour show before having to get ready for their own shows.
Please note also that everyone is required to have a ticket, even dancers if they are dancing and then going to watch the rest of the show.
Please see our Facebook page for people wanting to buy tickets to the 2pm and 6.30pm shows if you have any you no longer need.
PROFESSIONAL SHOW DVDS MUST BE ORDERED & PAID FOR IN ADVANCE - YOU CAN DO SO HERE:

No photographing is permitted. We have professional photographers taking photos and you can order directly from their website after the shows.
Photos can be purchased after the show (please allow a couple of days to upload), here:

ICECREAM FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Rise Dance Company are proud to be supporting Heart Kids at the shows this year with fifty cents of every ticket sold being donated to the charity. Baycourt is also offering to donate fifty cents from every MAGNUM ice cream purchased at the bar on our show day to Heart Kids too.
Let's all get behind this amazing charity by buying lots of magnums at the shows to help support Heart Kids - Yum!
HAIR AND MAKEUP AT THE SHOWS:
Hair:
Please arrive with clean, brushed, product free hair, ideally washed a couple of days prior. Please ensure hair is FREE OF LICE, we cannot do hair that has lice due to the risk of passing on to others.
Please also send girls along with 2x strong black hair bands on their wrist so the hairdressers can use them to put their hair up. We supply hair clips and hairspray but not hair bands.
Makeup:
We have some parent helpers doing makeup backstage. As they have hundreds of students to get through it would be helpful if you can manage the basics before you drop your child to each of the shows.
Base (foundation) and mascara would be great as we don't do either of those. Also if you are able to manage a tidy line of black eyeliner on the upper eyelid that would be great. Optional for boys to wear makeup.
We will do blush, eyeshadow and lipstick for each of the groups.
Jewellery:
Please make sure your child doesn’t come with any jewellery; this includes earrings & watches as they will need to be taken off for their dances so the group look uniform. Obviously, if jewellery has to be removed at the shows, there is a possibility of it getting lost.
CHILDREN WITH MORE THAN ONE COSTUME CHANGE:
It’s really important that your child is familiar with the order of their dances and therefore the order of their costume changes. Help them out by writing and going over the order for them from the run sheet. Note how many other dances are between their costume changes so they have an idea of how quickly they need to get changed. Please make sure you work off the last run sheet we sent out, as earlier run sheets are drafts and will be changed if parents advise us that their child does not have 3 dances between performances in order to make costume change.
Students with more than one costume change will have a separate changing area with parent helpers to assist them as much as possible but the more independent these students are the better. There will be 60 students using this area so it’s essential all costumes and shoes are clearly named and that your child keeps their belongings in an orderly manner.
Please assist them by having their costumes in different named clear bags or on coat hangers (there are lots of hanging racks in the change room).
2018 Enrollments
Please note that when registering for term One 2018, everyone needs to create a new login as we have a new enrollment software that is packed with helpful features for parents. It only takes two minutes to register your family/child and you only need to create one account per family.
Note also that our terms are increasing to 9 weeks duration from Term One.
There are two ways to register:
1. Firstly you can select "Enroll/Timetable" menu then follow the prompts to choose your location and class then press "Register", then follow the prompts to fill in your contact details.
2. Alternatively to register click "Parent Portal login/Create Account" (found in the top right hand corner of the website) then proceed to fill in your information (do not press "already a customer" unless you have already enrolled for term 1 as the system won't recognize emails not already registered for our new accounts).
We hope you have had a great year with Rise Dance Company and we look forward to seeing all of your familiar faces again next year. Enjoy the shows!
